Applying for a loan: effect of addresses?

I have heard that living in many different places can affect your credit rating and therefore applying for a loan.
From September 2002 I was a student living away from home so obviously during holidays I lived with my parents but for each year of my courses (3 years) I lived somewhere different during term time, one year I even lived in two places as our landlord was caught using our bedrooms to conduct an affair (but thats a different story)
sept 2002 halls of residence (8 months)
may -sept 2003 parents (4 months)
sept 2003 rented accomm (6 months)
Mar 2004 rented accomm (2 months)
may - sept 2004 parents (4 months)
Sept 2004 rented accom (1 year)
I then moved in my b/f parents house (sept 2005) where I pay board each month.
Is there anything I can do about this? Or is it something all students have to suddenly realise once they graduate.
Also living at a b/f parents house, what category does it come under, they're not actually my parents, but I don't think its considered privately renting either
Please help! I gather I need to provide all the addresses I've lived at for the last 6 years to do a credit ref check (I'd hate to be finacially linked to some random students!).

Put every address that you can remember living at, if something comes up later, it can look like you were witholding information.
When you get your report back look form there.
It doesn't look 'good' to have so many addresses but if you apply for a loan etc tell them the reasons on a seperate sheet of paper instead of trying to appeal if/when they turn you down.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
So for the purpose of a credit check put all of them in, but if i applied for something from a bank would i just need to fill in my parents address then? The addresses in between my student houses is the same one.
also what sort of living status is living at b/f parents house considered to be, they're not exactly my parents, but not sure it counts as private rental.
I'm not looking to apply for any loans or credit cards at the mo (I finish paying off a loan in August) but I'd like to get all my details in order before the time comes that I want to.:kisses2: Got married September 2011:smileyhea

I only put down the addresses that I permantely lived at, ie the addresses where I was on the electrol roll. I didn't bother changing address for things like mobile phones etc when I was at uni and just had all post forwarded to me by my parents. Checked my credit file the other day and the only addresses that are on there are my current address and parents address.
Best to approach your bank first as they may offer a graduate loan and will be more sympathic to your situation but from my point of view I believe its only your permante addresses you need to disclose.0 -
When you fill out an application, the forms usually say "Please list all addresses you have lived at during the last 5/6 years". It does not say permanent addresses.
If you are comfortable that there is nothing to connect you to an address, then you can choose to leave it out, but if you don't appear to be at your parents address either then you may have a problem.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
I'm registered at my parents address on the electoral roll right through those 6 years, although on some occasions I'm on two electrol rolls at once (apparently that happenes sometimes if you are a student).
I don't mind putting them all down. If I'd known it would have affected my credit record while I was a student I would have made sure I just had my post forwarded on to me from home.
I'm sure many students end up going through this every year when they graduate!
I've had a look at my credit record I've moved 7 times within 6 years, between 5 addresses (3 are student related, 1 is my parents and 1 is my b/fs)
Can anyone answer the question whether living with my b/f and his parents (I pay board) counts as "living with parents" or "privately renting" Please?:kisses2: Got married September 2011:smileyhea
