First wedding anniversary ideas?

Our first wedding anniversary is coming up and I want to do something special but we are saving every penny at the moment to get a deposit on a house soon.. He works away and is home in 2 weeks so I have 2 weeks to make/buy/find something fab for him.
I'm planning on making him a nice dinner and cake, and having a romantic evening in rather than out but I definitely want to get him a present too, just can't think of anything special!
Any ideas?

Traditionally, the first anniversary is paper so you could make/find a gift without it needing to be expensive. Some ideas:
- photo book
- your first dance sony lyrics framed
- love letter
- paper roses0
