what to do??????

Getting married at 3:30

so I’m thinking

3 guests arrive for a drink

3:30 ceremony

4 drink and photos (this drink is included in our drinks package)

5 hot carved buffet

6 speeches

When do you have first dance cut cake bring out chocolate fountain(not having a desert so this is classed as desert lol) and then in instead of a buffet at night we are having sausage or bacon butties.

Basically I am not sure what order to do things in after the speeches or if these are at the right time.

Im also worried as we are not having a buffet at night and my dad wants a few mates there (origanly day and evening guest were all the same) not a problem but usually don’t evening guest expect a buffet not butty’s

Jeepers did not realise I would worry like this not sure I can take another 8 ½ months of it haha

  • Only allowing an hour for photos will be cutting it a bit fine - probs need more ike 2hrs.

I'd bring the fountain out after the speeches (so no-one's distracted) - maybe you can ask the venue or fountain provider when they can do it - they might have it set up & covered, then bring the chocolate when it's time to get it going.

Cake cutting is after the speeches.

First dance is usually once the disco is all set up & ready to go, although I've seen some couples do it before the meal.
  • I agree with rainbowdrops, you will probably need a little longer for photo's, these can take a while. Also, you will probably want to spend a bit of time with your guests before you eat so, if you gave yourself 1.5 - 2 hours between the ceremony and buffet you should have chance to speak to people. If your speeches are slightly later because of more free time in the day, then this should take you right up to 7 - 7.30, ready for your evening guests to arrive.

I wouldn't worry about not providing a buffet to the evening guests. I am having something similar to you, as I think I am having paninis and wedges. I figured that the people in the evening will just be after food to soak up the alcohol as they will be more in a party mood, than say your day guests. I hope so anyway. They will be happy with whatever is there, and there will be last chance of food being wasted as everyone loves a bacon butty (apart from vegetarians).
  • 2hrs  lol i hate having my photo taken, ow no i forgot about mingeling haha im soooooo shy but i suppose ill be mega hyped up from the day to so that will help.

    will rethink times.

thanks i feel better about not having a buffet now the main reason we were not is because we were not haing evening guests. there is maybe about 5 extra people coming in the eveining might aswell try acomodate them for the day lol. only having a small wedding around 50-60 guest.
