I have always been asked to produce the card I ordered with when collecting orders so assumed it was standard practice in Tescos. It does state on the email that you must take the payment card with you when collecting.

If you're not swapping personal information are you buying these items for the other MSEr - very generous of you if this is the case.

I'm not trying to be forum police and in the early days of MSE I myself bought items and either posted or delivered them to other MSEr's (long time members may well remember the Argos sale of 2004/05;)). I was more warning that even posting offers like yours may potentially get the thread locked and shut - however well meaning you are trying to be. Hope I haven't offended you:beer:

no you havent offended me at all - thankyou for your advice and i understand completely - i would offer the same advice too if it was the other way around - but yes, i would buy them for the other MSEer as i have seen their kindness on here in the past and i suppose, im just returning their kindness. - plus, at £3. odd, its not much really...

i am not trying to get the thread locked and shut, and hope that the Mods see it that way too as no personal info is being passed on.... apart from which store would be easiest for the MSEer to pick up from... but that info is freely shared amongst most posts/threads anyway when reporting bargains/DTDs to see if its just store specific etc.....

i never noticed on the e-mails before that it says you have to take your card with you, and i never have before... oops - maybe i have just been lucky....

thankyou for your advice and help. xx
