it doesnt cost a penny to transfer stakeholder pensions from one to another (or to personal pension or SIPP). So, find another provider that is better (not difficult seeing as most of them are). If you are doing DIY, then use a discount broker/adviser (commission isnt rebated but is used to reduce charges). If you are going advice, let the IFA do it.
A pension is a tax wrapper for your investments. The investments are the most important thing of all. A 2% a year difference in performance can almost double the pension income in retirement depending on the number of years you have.
