Hello I am not sure if this is the right place to post but am after some advice or to point me in the right direction.
I posted a few weeks back posted my SOA and got lots of helpful advice so thats all great and was taking a lot of things on board.
At the moment we pay our debts through to differnt debt companys as the were passed on from the original ones this is all fine the problem that we have is we are currently on Jsa for a joint claim all tax credits and HB (in a private let) the really good news is my partner has a job 18 hours so will need to sign off change claims etc
This is where I am worrying I am unsure how long things take to work out what do I do about the debts do I stop paying for the moment cancel the dds or do I ring them up and explain the situation the they come back with saying you can pay lots more as we are working I need to decide soon as the vast amout of payments come out soon (not sure if all the money is there:( )
I really hope this makes sense

Hi little miss , I hope I've read your post correctly, if it's going to be a problem paying your creditors until such times you have your money sorted out (I'm presuming this is what you meant) you can send your creditors a token payment, (maybe a £1-£5) and a letter to explain your circumstances .
Its good to be in contact with your creditors as you will be seen to be dealing with your debts, you could phone them but it is much better to keep everything in writing,it makes things clearer ,also send your letter recorded delivery and keep copies of your letters and the receipt of postage.hope this helps good luck on your journey0 -
Hi little miss, congrats to OH on the new job :j
I hope you will both be a bit better off, have you got an idea of whether you'll still be eligible for any help with rent etc? The job centre should write very quickly with an estimate I think.
Remember that priority debts are what matter most ie things like rent, utilities, council tax. (and eating
)(the CAB can advise on that)
If you're not sure how much money you have I would cancel the DDs (if they are non-priority) and start again when you know the situation better. You might get some threatening letters but if they are non priority they will have to wait. Do not feel pressured into talking to them or agreeing to make payments you are not sure you can afford.
As Red scorpion says, keep everything in writing, recorded delivery & copies for yourself. DON'T BE SCARED

Thanks for the help0 -
Hi little miss
I think if you have been out of work for a certain amount of time (6 months?)you can get some cross over of housing benefit, so that may be you can still get some.(my OH just started a job & got a letter saying basically he hadn't been out of work long enough to qualify for it).
good luck with the letter writing!
