Aaargh! Just been on the phone to MIL and she says that she HATES the rollout icing stuff. So, back to the drawing board. If anyone knows how to make some sort of chocolate fudgey maleable icing, please let me know!!"I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0

If you melted white chocolate with a bit of butter over a basin of boiling water and poured it over the cake it would dry hard enough to paint onto with food colouring. Or you could ice the cake with buttercream or ganache and just pour melted white chocolate onto a sheet of greaseproof paper to get a flat disc that you could cut to shape with a hot knife, decorate and stick on top.
I just figure it would be easier if it is pliable and I can then roll it out, cut to shape and stick it on. The cat itself I want in white chocolate and the surrounds in milk chocolate (I'm using a round tin). I want something relatively pain free as I'm making it at MIL's and won't have a huge amount of time."I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0 -
You know you can roll chocolate ganache when it's cold. I can't remember the recipe off hand but I've made it before and it is dead easy. You can refrigerate it and then scrape it into a ball and roll it out using icing sugar or cocoa or a mix to prevent sticking. It is nice stuff to work with actually, very plastic. You have to be reasonably quick so it doesn't get too warm though.0
