Moorcroft Debt will the reduce the charge??

Hi i brought something from one of the shopping channels, i decided to pay monthly for this item.
Unfortunatley i lost my bank card and new one was sent, said company couldnt take funds from card as details had changed.
They have now given this debt of a amazing £35.49 to the debt recovery place and now i have to pay £75.49 as charges are added.. Bank said it wasnt their fault... and tv shopping company are saying i need to deal with Moorcroft debt recovery as they have sold the debt.
If they had phoned or contacted me i would of paid the £35.49 to shopping channel.
Do you think the debt recovery place will reduce the debt?
