  • What ever you do don't choose Baskil Windows. They are awful. We purchased a new build about 6 years ago. The window in the ensuite you can hear the traffic on the road as if the window was open, the draught is dreadful. The upstairs windows are all wet on the frosty mornings. So i have to go round drying them all with a towels!!! Nightmare

Excellent service & very clean workers, got 7 Terrace house windows for £1500, you wouldnt even know they were in the house.

Betterhomes did our's a while back and couldn't have been better - delighted with everything!
We had them out last summer to get a quote for PVC doors. The sales man was really ignorant when I told him I was going to get a couple of quotes. He made me feel uncomfortable in my own home :(

Had a sun room built by Turkingtons. It took them nearly a year and was a disaster from start to finish.
Ended up in the small claims court along with 2 other dissatisfied clients that day!
Know exactly what you are getting for your money and get it in writing, Take pictures before, during and after, of everything and don't pay all the money until you are completely satisfied. ( Take a few days to check over the work )

You must have plenty of money to buy from Better Homes, I got a quote from them to do my PVC facias etc.. price was that high that i had to tell them i didn't want an extension as well!!!
And I agree with Flower-power22, the salesman is high pressure & certainly not one you want in your home...

Quick Fit Windows from the Newtownabbey area would be my recommendation, good tidy work using quality frames....(rehau)..
Not a newbie - my past has disappeared !!!

We used prestige for ours about 4 years ago. Good enough service and done in one day. one piece of advice I got when shopping around was get someone who supplies and fits, rather than just sales then subbing out the fitting. much better comeback if things do go wrong.

We are getting an extension done at the minute and our builder uses regal in carrick. seem dead on and supply the same stuff as prestige did 4 years ago (camden)

I rang Prestige yesterday as I wanted a quote for new front windows, was very surprised to hear that they have now closed down. They did our back windows and 2 new doors about 3 years ago, so the remaining 7 years on our warranty is now void.
Has anyone ever used HHI for windows?

Afraid not, but I have previously recommended Danny at Amazing Glazing (listed above).

He knows his stuff (legal requirement to put safety glass in low sill windows, requirement for a fire escape etc.) and there is no pressure to spend more than is needed.

I had an extremely reasonable quote, the work only took about 1.5 days with a very tidy finish, I've had no problems since, and the frames look as good as they did when put in 5 years ago.

Free quote too, and he's happy to give you time to consider your choice (although there is a legal requirement for you to get a 7 day cooling off period if the contract is made in your home!!). Only took about a week from ordering to the windows / door being ready too.

We have used them on 3 occasions. Quotes were always reasonable and the job was top notch. No hard sell, just measure and quote a couple of days later.

We also included Amazing Glazing when we got quotes due to the suggestions here. They were usually slightly more expensive than Down Windows and I got put off them when he refused quote for my garage windows as he said it was going to fall down. My garage has been standing for 80 years. It has not fallen down and the lovely windows installed by Down Window Systems are great.
