parents looking for 42 inch telly please advise if poss

hi all parents are looking for a new 42" telly or slightly bigger.
they would like
freeview with it
usb ports
be able to plug in a dvd player
and wii console
they havent got surround sound
budget as cheap as they can get one for a reasonable telly. x
i havent really a clue have been looking but not up to date on technical things so any advice would be appreciated. x

Whats the budget? What do they want to be able to plug into it (DVD, surround sound) - why do they want USB ports?

Average Power Consumption is 121W, which is comparable to LCD TVs, so don't listen to nonsense from people who will tell you that Plasma TVs use a lot of electricity.0
