Workers Union is it worth it?

I've been working as a school as a cleaner for just over a year now. A union has invited me to join them. It would only cost me £5.30 a month. Where would it really be beneficial for me to join? What kind of pro's could it offer me?

Free representation and legal advice when you get sacked? Because "it could never happen to me" doesn't always work out that well!
  • Yeah I kinda know that, but tbh I want to find out if there is anything they could offer me.
  • Do you mean things like discounts?

If so, which union is it?

    It's Unison Education Services

It would have been quicker to do what I did - google unison benefits!

GO AWAY (hate when people tell you just to google something.

I've got a leaflet with this on, I just wanted peoples views on it, like you do get with forum.

Excuse me? You ask a question that can easily be answered by googling; you already have the answer to your question on the leaflet you have in your possession; and then you are obnoxious enough to SHOUT at someone trying to help you? You asked a question and that question was answered.

This. The other benefits probably aren't worth the money, but tbh I'm not sure why you're asking if you already know the answers...

You didn't ask for opinions, you asked for facts!

Most people would just look on their website to find out whether it would be worth it or not. It's not rocket science.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Look i'm sorry alright, it just annoys me when people instantly refer you to google.

TBH I don't think I will bother joining, it's ok job but not one really worth fighting for if I lost it.
