  • Not having a go - just wanted to offer my two cents..

I have a Honours BSc in Computing & IT & I was genuinely shocked when I realised how few jobs there were/variety of jobs in my area of interest.

I understand you wanting a place of your own but it sounds like you are being a bit over ambitious.. Most students/recent graduates just settle for what they can afford but moving into the same appartment block as celebrities & footballers is a pipe dream for most..

I really feel for people trying to get a foot in the door in their own pad the pricing is just become crazy way beyond the wages people earn.

When me and my partner got out place in 2000 we were very lucky but in to get a 2 bed terrace house, when we started looking early 1999 the prices were bouncing around £45,000 or so and the by the time we got a house they had gone up to £58,000 but now the very smae house is selling for a shocking £138,000 how the hell can anyone start out at those prices  damn capitalism, I mean the house can be built for £40,000 so how the hell can it be worth almost 3 times as much.

Some friends have had to take out a 50 year mortgage that is just scary.

Good luck with your house hunting, but bear in mind all other costs and they do grow year on year.
