Mortgage payment protection claim

We have had mortgage protection for the last 20 years, 50% on each hubby and I. We swapped our mortgage provider 10 years ago (and swapped the insurer to Pinnacle, supplied through the mortgage provider.) 2 years ago, hubby was out of work and we claimed for 9 months. Each month we had to send in a list of jobs applied for, any interviews and where we had been looking for work. Hubby is out of work again and we made a claim. They have replied asking for payslips from Feb 2011 to August 2011, P45, contract of employment and a letter off the unemployment office stating he is out of work and when (if poss) he will have benefit until. Seems a little OTT to me????

Whether you think it's OTT or not doesn't change the fact that they will need the documents to process the claim. Seems only fair they want to check the validity of the claim.0

Proof that he'd been employed in the interim (to show this isn't an extension of the previous claim).
Proof he is now unemployed.
Seems reasonable.
What do you think would be more appropriate?0 -
Most ASU providers ask for this sort of proof prior to paying any money, they usually require proof that you are actively trying to get a job, therefore, everytime you go to the jobcentre get the slips that are provided when looking/applying for a job, they may also send someone around to interview your hubby at regular intervals, it is a very onerous procedure, however you must dance to thier tune or they will not pay.I am a Mortgage Advisor.
