Quite big packs of langoustines with garlic and herb butter in the freezer section. Sainsbury's at bargain at £1. Filled my trolley and my freezer!:D

I had mine delivered today after I spotted them last time they were posted. I've never had them before an have no idea what to do with them. I looked at them and they looked right back at me with their black, dead eyes. They may never come out of the freezer.

Is that a case of shrimping and saving?
  • I bought four packs online this week and had one which was lovely but you don't get much to eat out of each one-mostly shell which really hurts your fingers to remove-my thumb is still sore...unless there is some clever way of removing the shells which I have not yet sussed out! lol :rotfl:

  • I will be going looking for these thanks OP... Been away so did nt see the previous post... The easy way to shell a langoustine after reminv the head, is to place on its back, use a sharp knife to cut right down and open up put your fork into the flesh and hey presto out in one.. True you get only a small amount of lovely sweet flesh but its worth it. If anyone wants a recipe pour over a pernod scented butter yum
  • All I can think about when I read about these is when Mr Bean eats the shell, head and claws on Mr Beans Holiday, LOL.
