I'm going to make muffins tonight. I bought some blueberries last week and I haven't got round to it.

    Baking is masculine, right?

Can I ask a stupid question? Who is that in your avatar? (it's probably someone I should recognise but I'm rubbish at that sort of thing!)

    It's Sir Roger Moore.

I bet he can make muffins too. Seems the practical sort of chap.

Sure is. We have a small company making chocolate and cakes and my OH does all the baking.

I am looking forward to getting the lease on the shop.
I am looking forward to getting the lease on a house (which is just round the corner from the shop).
I am looking forward to packing up all my stuff - I think!!!!

And he wouldn't get his hair messed up, just like in his James Bond fight scenes.

    I'm looking forward to:
    1. Seeing my lovely boyfriend at the weekend.
    2. Sending off lots of eBay parcels and then being able to get across my room without hopping.
    3. The feeling of a row of NSDs as I plan to do a load of batch cooking tonight.

    Great idea.

    I'm looking forward to:
    • Getting through some of the mound of work I have in front of me this week and getting to the end of the week feeling some of it is off my desk.
    • My OH coming back on Friday night after being away for the week.
    • Pouring over the football and tennis fixtures to find the closest matched bets and getting excited when the results come in (I need to get out more!)
    • Making at least another £70 towards my Olympic challenge

    - Paypal money clearing in my bank (Weds?) and then going straight off OH's OD to half it (ready to clear on Payday)
    - OH's last day at current job (boo) but looking forward to him securing a better one
    - Lots of extra hours at 2nd job
    - Spinach & Ricotta lasagna on Tuesday. Hurrah!

Just read your sig - if you're going to 'tackle' your student loan - be sure to save against it rather than make extra payments on it. Here's why: At 2.4% as it is at present, you need only put half of what you owe in an ISA to earn more interest that you're charged. For instance, your is £16,000 (roughly the same as mine incidentally), so save £8000 in an ISA at £3000 per year (£250 per month) for 2.6 years, and you'll have offset your loan interest against your savings interest.

Anything you save past that is yours to keep - and the best thing is that you now have £8000+ in savings which you can use for whatever at the super low loan rate of the student loan.

It's what I'm going to do as of July 2008 when I pay off my postgraduate study loan (or sooner, funds permitting).
