Hi
Thinking of buying one of these lateral steppers mainly to tone up my bum and beer belly, has anyone used these and are they really effective? I'm thinking of buying one of the following, these models also come with upper body resistance cords so apparently they provide a complete body workout.

OR

Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there,
I have one of these and never use it, you can get better results by doing hill work when out running (if this is your thing!), you could also do step ups on the bottom of your stairs.
Running is excellent for toning your whole body, for your belly DON'T do sit-ups, do the Plank and a variation to this (see this months runners world magazine). Honestly it works!
I hope this is useful0 -
Thanks evab, but i already have a treadmill at home and do use it 3-4 times a week....problem is when i go to work offshore (for a month at a time) i start to gain weight, so really looking to take some sort of portable exercise equipment which i can leave in my room on the rig.
Thanks anyway

The lateral thigh trainer certainly aint portable Im young and quite fit and struggle to get it up the stairs alone, however I fend it a very goof piece of equipment. Apart from the space it takes up.Saving needed to emigrate to Oz*September 2015*

I got one yesterday on e-Bay for the bargain price of £5.50!
Why not have a search on there, good money saving and if you don't like it or it's not for you, you won't have wasted good money

The plank is another great exercise that challenges your Transverse Abdominis as well as the muscles of your back. You can do this move on your elbows or on your hands. Position yourself as though you're about to do a pushup and hold that pose, making sure your body is in one long, straight line from head to toes. Don't let your belly sag and keep your neck straight. Hold as long as you can! (http://exercise.about.com/cs/abs/tp/abexercises.htm):icotbaske0
