Electric Blankets for £3.75

Just got back from Tesco Peterborough (Serpentine Green) where they had a huge stack of single electric blankets at £3.75 - it's this one:

which is still £14.97 at Tesco Direct.
I bought three for use on chairs and settees, meaning we can keep the heating a bit lower and still be lovely and snug.
Can't go wrong at that price!

I bought 2 of these last night for the kids. We have got 2 duvets now it's getting cooler so we don't need one. Don't feel so guilty now

What a great idea. Add to that a duvet over the top and you could switch the heating off altogether..I miss too many pages due to work so if you need an answer from me, please send me a PM.

Do you have any idea how expensive electric blankets cost to use? If you're hoping to save on fuel bills you could be in for a nasty surprise, especially running three of them.We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -

Very little actually - less than a penny an hour. A tiny fraction of the cost of heating a house, or even a room.

Very true. We only turn em on for 10 mins before the kids go to bed to take off the chill.
Regarding keeping warm in the house, we have snuggle blankets in the front room to get comfy n cosy with whilst watching a movie etc. Cheaper and more pleasant than roasting with a costly convector fire running. Never underestimate the coziness of a hot water bottle either. Who says they are only for bedtime?

the comment about fire is not relevant as modern electric blankets are COMPLETELY SAFE. They are all machine washable as well.0

The blankets are 70w power consumption, so are EXTREMELY economical compared to running central heating or even a 1kw electric fire in one room!
They also have a safety cut out feature which eliminates any risk of fire..... you probably have more fire risk from an electric kettle! If you feel my comments are helpful then I'd love it if you 'Thanked' me!
