Evening
I require a loan of approx £7000 ( im changing mortgage lender in 5 months) for a new kitchen & Bathroom. The rate my current bank offered me was 14.9% APR! (HSBC)

I have just recently opened Alliance & Leicester’s Premier Direct* account i know that my credit report with experian is good (thats who the A & L use).
But my Equifax on isnt:confused:

1.Would they take a dim view if within a week of opening the account i asked for a loan?

2. Would my chance of success be better as i had no problems opening an account?

3 IM SCARED about applying incase i get turned down and that will leave a foot print on my credit report.

Taking on more debt before remortgaging is unlikely to be considered favourable by lenders. Maybe it would be better to wait until you have sorted the mortgage out as presumably it will have a bigger financial impact.

    1. Possibly.
    2. Depends on existing debt and salary.
    3. If you dont think you will get credit and dont want the footprint that could damage your remortgaging options, dont apply.
