loan help please

hi could to with alittle help with is matter please .Im not sure if its posted on right board so please move if not.
My FIL took out a personal loan afew years ago to buy a car after a year i think he sold the car to me .
Very sadly he passed away two months ago we have been sorting his bills out and there is alot of debt will i have to sell my car to pay these as that what the loan was used for .Also there no way it will cover all his debt theres no savings,house or anything else.Ive tried to shield as much as i can from my husband as hes not coping very well with things and my MIL cant even open the post as min could please do with some advice please thank you

If it was a personal loan, not car finance / HP then the loan and the car are not linked and you do not need to sell the car or hand the car back (if it was HP then you'll need to arrange for it to be handed back not sell it yourself).
Presumably your registered the car in your name when he sold it to you?

thank you for the reply and the link will take a look.I put the log book in my name when i paid for it which was about a year ago .I also did a hpi check and nothing came up .

It was taken out from a company call barclay partner finance as far as i can see it was a personal loan but alot of the paper works missing and we are still waiting for details from them does anyone know anything about this company thanks
