Liability order for council tax

Not sure if anyone can help on here or not but here goes.
I have received a liability order for council tax for the year 2003 where the liability order was also obtained in 2003. As the council have not pursued this liability order until now what is the likelihood that the liability order has passed any statute of limitations it now being nearly 8 years since they obtained it?

No statue to limitations for council tax debt - the only caveat is that to use legal action the Liability Order has to be obtained within 6 years of the bill being issued. Once they have the Liability Order the amount becomes recoverable for as long it remains outstanding.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

A liability order should be obtained before the statute of limitations kicks in. A liability order is not time barred.0
