Will Aid

I'm thinking of using a Will Aid solicitor to write a basic will and would be interested to hear of anyones experience (good or bad) with any of the Belfast based participating solicitors.

The following is from the Will Aid website which can be found by typing WillAid into your search engine:

Will Aid is a special partnership between the legal profession and nine of the UK's best-loved charities. Every November, participating solicitors waive their fee for writing a basic Will. Instead, they invite their clients to make a donation to Will Aid. Each year, thousands of people use the Will Aid scheme. They not only gain peace of mind by writing their Will, they help fund life-changing charity work at the same time.

    Hi,
We made our wills with will aid last year and used:
    MacKenzie & Dorman
Address: 94-96 Holywood Road, Belfast, County Antrim, BT4 1NN
    Distance: 0.21 mi
    Telephone: 028 90673211
    Contact name: Ms Judith Hutchinson
They were great, we got mirror wills made for a flat fee that went to charity and the documentation on the website was very useful. The solicitors are also going to store our wills for security. Also, even though the process ran on past November there was no problem.

For anyone outside Belfast MacCorkell Legal and Commercial Ltd Solicitors are also participating in the will aid scheme, contact Ian MacCorkell or Rachael McKeown on 02892669555 address: Garvey Studios, 8 - 10 Longstone Street, Lisburn BT28 1TP. No problem if outside November (early or late!) and they will sort out storage of original wills for no fee.
Life's a box of beads - rainbow coloured and full of surprises!:D
  • Thanks for the replies :)

May seem a bit morbid talking about making a will but it makes sense to have one as you just don't know whats around the corner and if I can help a few worthy charities in the process all the better.
