I'm an npower( standard tariff) customer already & have just gone on price comparison websites to check charges. Most of them put npower at the top of their list, but it's with a different tariff like winter cashback or sign online dual fuel 23. If I am an existing customer can I still use Top Cashback when I switch?
I'm new to MSE so would be grateful for some guidance.
Thanks

You can but you won't get cashback if you "switch" to Npower SOL23 from Npower Standard. Personally, I'd switch to another variable rate supplier first without a lock in such as Ebico then as soon as that switches then switch back to Npower gaining the cashback through Topcashback. You should have enough time to do that without being hammered by high winter charges of Ebico.....but....the best time to switch to Npower is always just after Winter so I'd find a different supplier for the next 6 months that does not have a cancellation fee and also has good unit rates.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Welcome to the Forum.
You can always give Npower a call and imply you are intending to switch away.
They may then offer you a retention credit (instead of your desired cashback) for staying. As long as you get them to change your tariff to SOL23 if you are going to stay, you're quids in without having to switch.
If you're unsure on the phone, just say you'll think about it all. Don't let them pressurise you into making a decision there and then.
Good luck.

they wont give a retention credit, also beware as npower takes forever to pay cashbackDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
