Very un-shiny taps :(

Anyone have any advice on how I can make my old, very un-shiny, pretty manky bathroom taps lovely and shiny again?
Preferably with something not too toxic! But not sure if there's anything non-chemical up to the job!
Any suggestions gratefully received

If it's limescale that's causing the 'mankiness', then a solution of white vinegar and water will do the job.February wins: Theatre tickets0

Also bleach will make things shiny once limescale is off0

just a tip to keep them shiny, keep all the shower caps you get in hotels,
When youre having a shower put one of these cap over the taps, when youve finished just hang it over the shower head.
No water or soap scum gets to the taps then.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Buffing them with a microfibre cloth works wonders I find. Bleach and the old toothbrush I keep round for scrubbing things works well on my taps. Just leave the bleach to work for an hour or so.0

Thanks everyone. I knew the OSers would have a solution!0

try a wet microfiber cloth and some elbow grease, works on treat on all my taps and in fact, most things :-) no chemicals required0
