Possible grab it glitch? for WHSmith

Hi, i dont know if this was a store error or if it will work everywhere...
today i went into the bra*ford store and picked up the hugh fearnley-whittingstall everyday cook book with 60% off at £9.99, i had a voucher for £5 off when i spent £15 on books so i also picked up a childrens book (it had sparkly fish on the cover) it was priced at £5.99. so i thought had spent a total of £15.98 less my £5 voucher = £10.98 i went to the till and before i handed her the voucher she said that it came to £10.98, i was a bit confused and asked how, she showed me that i had qualified for buy one get one half price(nowhere did it say about this when i was picking up the books i believed it was only on selected stickered books) but it had given me the half price discount of £5 for the cook book so full price for the lower priced item and half price for the higher priced item. so i got another book for £4.99 and the total with my voucher was £10.97! so thats over £20 worth of books for just under £11!
maybe i got the discount the wrong way around because she scanned the kids book first but a handy glitch i got an extra book for the little un for 1p less than i was going to pay in the first place even with the voucher :)

i got the voucher free in store when i bought a ruler for about 90p yesterday but the staff were giving them to people if they asked without buying anything

i hope this makes sense ask questions if your confused ill try to explain :P

I don't think they're overpriced they're just not cheap which is always going to be the case with a bricks and mortar establishment.

Amazon etc is ok if you can wait, if you have a means to pay online etc but Smiths aint all that bad

Why are you hiding under a new user name?

hi, the river cottage book was £9.99 i usually use amazon but recently they've been using a different courier and it never seems to get here but they always seem to have a very poor scribble as a signature then the book arrives about a week after i have complained!
the kids book deffinately scanned at the right price of £5.99 but like i say it said i had qualified for buy one get one half price and nocked a fiver off the river cottage book :D so from 24.99rrp to 4.99 after discounts i thought was great. i put it on here as i thought it might work with other books. as you work there maybe you could check :D

ill check for 99p books my sister used to love captain underpants :') she is now 19 but a blast from the past might make her smile

Is it actually the new River Cottage cookbook or an older one, as my local store has a big stack of older ones at 60% off.
The new on is River Cottage Veg Every Day.

On the WHS website is River Cottage Everyday for £5, would that be the one mentioned in OP?

On the subject of Smiths, I am always very wary regarding their prices.

Especially at service areas, airports and railway stations, I only buy anything with a price on it, such as a newspaper, they really do load their prices!
