It's the Sun stupid!

Shock horror, man may not be as influential on the Earth climate as vested interests would have you believe, amazing as it seems it may actually be that insignificant spot in the sky the Sun that regulates temperatures on Earth ;) Doesn't really change much, we are still going to run out of energy resources if we don't pull our finger out.
New, convincing evidence indicates global warming is caused by cosmic rays and the sun — not humans
The science is now all-but-settled on global warming, convincing new evidence demonstrates, but Al Gore, the IPCC and other global warming doomsayers won’t be celebrating. The new findings point to cosmic rays and the sun — not human activities — as the dominant controller of climate on Earth.

    Ooh! Controversial.
    Interesting stuff though.
If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.
  • Wait until it knocks out the planets communications. :)

Talk about the s*** hitting the fan.

  • I really hope those hippies get their backsides laid on a plate. The sooner we realise climate change has been used to justify reduced infrastructure spending, the better. The only thing that will turn me "green" is when it is cost effective, until then, I will be driving in a car solo and throwing out 55,000 Kg of CO2 per hour in my jet.
  • The more jet flights. The more contrails the cooler the planet. Who needs subatomic particles.

It is a good thing that there are setallites in space to monitor the Earth's atmosphere and the output of the Sun. Their time is limited and they will make a day to remember when they fall ,like UARS into the back end of beyond in the next few days.

Infrastructure is overrated when you can use jets and helicopters.
If the third world can do without it then so can we.

  • Despite the articles spin there is no hypothesis in the summary of that graph regarding climate change. All it is about is expanding scientific knowledge on cloud formation, does nothing at all to provide evidence against climate change.

    ^^^^^

Hippy who has no idea about science.

Want to give me another example in science where increases at the millionth scale of a substance can cause massive changes to equilibrium?

politification of science is an absolute disgrace and no better than the catholic church trying to quash theories contrary to those suggesting that the earth= the centre of the universe.

Well here is the original spec for the experiment from 2006, but shush they are not allowed to interpret the results (unless they are negative I guess) ;)

CERN experiment looks at cosmic rays, clouds and climate

CLOUD (Cosmics Leaving OUtdoor Droplets) is a novel experiment at CERN conducted by an interdisciplinary team of leading scientists from 18 institutes in 9 countries. The goal is to investigate the possible influence of galactic cosmic rays on Earth's clouds and climate, by studying the microphysical interactions involved. This is the first time a high energy physics accelerator is being used to study atmospheric and climate science.
    Cosmic rays are

    http://public.web.cern.ch/public/en/Spotlight/SpotlightCloud-en.html

Welt Online: The results of the so-called CLOUD experiment, exploring the formation of clouds, are awaited with great excitement. Could these results still be important for understanding global climate change?
Heuer:This is indeed a matter of understanding better the formation of clouds. In nature there are many parameters at work – including temperature, humidity, impurities and also cosmic radiation. In the experiment, CLOUD investigates the influence of cosmic rays on cloud formation, using radiation I]meaning particles[/I coming from the accelerator. And in an experimental chamber one can study, under controlled conditions, how the formation of droplets depends on the radiation and particulate matter. The results will be published shortly. I have asked the colleagues to present the results clearly, but not to interpret them. That would go immediately into the highly political arena of the climate change debate. One has to make clear that cosmic radiation is only one of many parameters.
