Mods - could you merge this with the original thread posted first please so as not to clutter the board with no only Tesco threads, but threads on the same thing. The OP had commented and on the other thread that the offer worked and was therefore going to start another thread on it rather than continue in the one that was running.

OP - There is no need to start another thread for this offer when you were posting in the original one - you said the offer worked so will post a new thread - Why?? I'm sure you've been here long enough to know how this place works.

And before anyone moans at me, I am a glitcher, but prefer my glitches to be kept on the one thread. Thanks!

I doubt the mods or board guides will see this as they don't read every thread. Probably best to PM one of them to ask for the threads to be merged.
  • :T Phew........ result!

After a very frustrating hour at home working it out and then a doubly frustrating hour at Tesco's customer service desk trying to get the poor customer service chap to understand, I finally walked away having paid £14.78 for 6 750ml bottles of wine and 4 small bottles (175ml size?).....

    I bought:
3 x Vina Albali Merlot and 3 x Vina Albali Airen - on 3 for £12 hence should have been £24 then taking off the 25% discount = £18
    and:
    4 x small bottles (£ 2.29 each or 2 for £3) = £6 then taking off the 25% discount = £4.50
My grand total should therefore have been - £22.50

but the 3 for £12 didn't kick in and so I was charged £30.66

The customer service asst tried every which way to convince me that I had got it wrong but I persevered (lots of huffing and puffing in the queue behind me) and came away with a DTD refund of £15.88 - which means I paid a grand total of £14.78 for 6 large and 4 small bottles of wine!

Great news, even though they're not even for me!!! It was a very annoying experience though.... the staff member did not have a nice demeanour at all and definitely tried to baffle me with all kinds of bulls**t. I would usually have given in after 10 mins but that really got my back up so I dug in... I was right tho so..... :D

    :T well done
do you want to come with me tomorrow :rotfl:the cs at my store hate me :o
  • Just received an email saying:-

We are delighted to offer 25% or more off all Wines and Champagnes* for orders placed before midnight on Tuesday 4th October.

Hurry and order your favourite wine now on this amazing offer and remember that you can now checkout with just 6 bottles!

    Cheers,

So I've ordered 30 bottles of wine, 18 of which are sparkling and it came to £104, but when I went to checkout I had an e-voucher for £10 so it only came to £94, I also went through topcashback so should get 3% back.

I got really excited on the thought of stocking up for christmas... (I bumped the thread to say it was on earlier), got six bottles that I know are usually on the 3 for £12 deal and had the anticipation of them going through at the tills ... and was dying to post a real grabbit!!!

    it was a No Go!!

    :(:(:(

sorry guys, but I did buy 6 bottles at half price (don't actually think they actually do sell them at full price anyway!!) and it knocked £8 off my bill... so 6 quite decent bottles for £23... cheaper than the nasties at the corner shop for £5 a go!! ;)

I think you have done the maths slightly wrong, I hope this is right.. But I think it takes 25% off the original amount and then the multi buy amount..

6 bottles of Vina Albali Merlot at £5.99 each. Total £35.94

(mental note that 25% of this is £8.98)

To make your 3 bottles £12 you are saving £11.94.

    SO.. £35.94 - £8.98 (multibuy discount) - £11.94 (25% off)

TOTAL - £15.05 (for 6 bottles) or per bottle is £2.51

Can some one confirm this is the right maths?
Obviously if the offer worked in the first place :)
    HTH :)

Check Tesco Wine instead of the grocery stores if you intend buying bulk as they sometimes appear cheaper if they have offers on.
