  • Thanks pinkpinkuk:)

I have received some of the money from the Treasurer, not as much as I was expecting as I managed to charge twice for 1 month:embarasse opps !!
However, they still owe me mileage for the year which I calculate to be about £400 so I have sent her a reminder about that today.
Ok - don't laugh but today I bought a snow shovel and a bag of rock salt:rotfl:I know, I know it's not winter yet, but I have a very steep drive and last year was unable to get my car off for nearly 2 weeks. And I know that when the bad weather comes you won't be able to buy them for love or money.
So I am sat here with washing on the line drying in the sunshine and a bag of rock salt and a snow shovel:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Oh and bought some freezer labels so I can mark what leftovers I freeze in the tupperware boxes rather than have a surprise when it thaws out!!

  • :( Fed up today so did what I would normally do and browsed around the shops.
However mse must be having more of an effect on me than I thought as i just could not seem to buy anything. Couldn't believe that I was desperately trying to spend money and yet couldn't find anything I wanted to buy. Yay a leap forward:T
So money is safe in my bank account for another day.
I like the idea of putting all my spends due for the week into an envelope and then only spending that. This morning i calculated how much I would need for the week and withdrew that amount in cash and will NOT be returning to the cash point again this week.
Freezer and store cupbaord are both well stocked and I do not need to buy any more food. Menu plan in my head so we're good to go.
Bought the dog a large sack of food today, much cheaper than her last brand but as she is not fussed by food am hoping she will take to it. I'm sure if she's hungry enough she will:)
Looking after 2 small boys this week so will be baking cup cakes a plenty, just hope I can stop eating them too. Not quite so easy :o
Still waiting for my expenses to be re paid and then I can pay off a chunk of my cc debt. Have calculated I can pay 1/4 this month, 1/3 the next, 1/2 the next and then 100% gone:T:T The others are on 0% so as long as I clear them before the offer expires I shall be well on the way. Then my aim is to SAVE :D:D

  • :(Oppps forgot to check on line banking yesterday and suddenly found that I had gone overdrawn that morning - I was expecting some expenses to be paid in but they haven't so far. Mercy dash to the bank to withdraw cash from 1 bank and pay into the other. Crisis averted ! That's one of the disadvantages of "piggy banking" accounts - having to watch 3 of them to make sure they are all on track. Normally I check every morning as have become slightly obsessive.....:o

On the brighter side have only spent money on my dance class last night so far this week and and that came out of the money I had set aside for the week. So hopefully a fairly positive no spend week.

Half term next week - so not so many early starts! Can't wait. Planning on visiting Brum with my Nieces (oh and my teenage kids who have decided they're not too old now!!) Better get baking for some goodies to take :)

  • Wow, fell off this web site spectacularly at end of last year but back now.
Well there is a reason I wandered off, but later about that.

I foresee rocky hard times ahead so am trying to prepare for them. My job is now very unsecure and I am not sure if I will have one at all. It's the uncertainty that's so worrying.

I am going to go through my finances thoroughly and see where I can make savings, if I am to survive financially I need to be ruthless. I have just found out that I am entitled to council tax benefit which would have been so useful, but have an idea that it is not backdated? Oh well, it will help in the future.

I will not allow myself to get disheartened.
