Mortgage Offer - Chances after income verification?

I think we have now passed the money laundering and income verification steps of our mortgage application. My broker has said they now do the final step which is the credit score with Autoscore. I know the Experien score doesnt mean that much but if I have 999 and my husband has 924, could we still get refused if we have met all of the other criteria?

Just passing the boring waiting time....

The chance of a decline gets smaller but it doesn't end until you actually complete.

  • Clydesdale?
  • Ah hah ! With Clydesdale 'Auto Scoring' is the final checking stage - usually takes about three days. Based on what you describe, shouldn't be a problem (although Mr Lingstreet's comment is 100% valid)

  • Thanks! It is probably going to be at least the end of the week then! I had to forward a letter yesterday confirming that my contract is highly likely to be extended for a further 6 months (I am an IT contractor with my own limited company) so who knows when our file will get back to the top of the pile.

Ho hum... and so we wait some more....
  • .... and yes, that means your've gone back to the bottom of the pile - a couple of days to 'process document' and 3 more to review would not be unusual. I have always found copious quantities of adult beverages the only way to deal with the tension of Clydesdale applications !
