Our July Wedding/ Wedding Cake

Hello all,
Thought I would tell everyone about our wedding we had on July 16th!, Was an amazing day
We decided to that for us we wanted to allocate more to the cake and the photos than to other bits like invites etc which we made ourselves, we had a two year engagement in which time we decided that anything we won from the competition page of the site we would sell,we were very fortunate that it enabled us to use an extra £3-£4k to the budget
I just thought I would put some of the main points incase it helps anyone in planning for there wedding, we both have big families which presented us with big problems as it meant we had a guestlist of over 100 which just family!
Anyway
Invites
We made the invites ourselves and were very pleased with them- well I say we, my wife did them, I cannot even draw a stickman!
, they can be seen here

Cake
We got engaged in Paris and so the theme of the wedding was Paris, the cake needed to represent this and we were lucky enough to read about Rachel Mount in a wedding magazine who did the cake we wanted, she really was amazing, telling us to personalise the cake more etc, so we ended up with not only a Paris themed cake but one with items that were relevant to us, my wife had her Guinea Pigs and her dog and I had Tranmere Rovers etc, we also had French shops with names that were relevant to us
It can be seen here

Venue
We held the wedding at Trunkwell House in Sandhurst and it was fabulous, we had a pianist as part of the package who played during the mealtime and had a disco in the evening. We created our own Sweetie buffet by just going online and buying bulk sweets and bags which was cheaper than any of the quotes we had
Photos
Our photographer for the day was Matt Pereira who although one of the more expensive photographers we saw did an amazing job both on the day and in our engagement shoot/ wedding photos, one recommendation I would make is to enquire as to whether your photographer has the ability to double up as a "photobooth" this cost us £500 and they supply props etc and it gives some really great and unique photos so I would really reccomend that

And as an added bonus we came home from our honeymoon just in time to see our good friend Patrick Monahan win Show Me The Funny on ITV!
And lastly, doesn't my wife look gorgeous! I am very lucky!!

Congratulations on your wedding!
Fantastic photos - Looks like it was a wonderful day.
We're also considering spending a bit more on a photographer as the photos are something that lasts for ever.
We not getting married until July 2013, so also have time to save.0
