buying and bottling wine in bulk

I'm thinking of cutting the cost of my wine habit by buying wine from the growers when next in France. They sell it 'en vrac' [or 'on draught' in English!] So that you can buy, say a 20 litre plastic container [once you've tasted what's on offer] of a particular wine and then bottle it once you're back home. At about a third of the price you'd be paying in the shops - assuming you're happy to have your holiday in France...
Just wondered if anyone had done this and if so any tips on suppliers, process, problems etc.
