Hi Guys,
Thought i'd post for a bit of advice, after clearing all of my credit cards it is now time to start on my two loans, Nationwide £2620(5.7% payment £95 pm , and Barclays £4456(5.7% payment £175 pm), both have two years left to run and were originally for £4000 and £6500.
I don't mind the Nationwide loan as i have found them lovely and helpful however i really hate Barclays and loathe (sp) them with a deep passion.
They will not let me up my repayments or make over payments so i am considering paying these off by balance transfer to my account then pay them from then, can anyone recomend a card that lets me pay money to my acocunt that has a 0% offer on. I reckon i will be charged about £253 based on one months interest of outstanding balance but i am miffed if i will pay then anymore than i have to.Grrrr.
What do you reckon guys?? I have approx £500 spare each month to service these debts so am thinking of keeping nationwide on back burner whilst clearing barclays one.
Your expert advice appriciated
Thanks

I did exactly that with my Barclays loan for very similar reasons. I used a Virgin card which allows you to transfer funds directly into a bank account. MBNA will probably allowthe same as they issue the Virgin card.
Cost a bit more because of the transfer fee but to me it was worth it because I just wanted to get away from Barclays.
I think there are other cards you can use for this (Egg Money springs to mind) but they may not be 0%0 -
Thankyou for that,
I will investigate that and see whats open to me, credit rating is fine etc.
Just want it gone from them and then gone from me.
I phoned them this morning to enquire about making one off payments/increasing my monthly payments and the man was most rude on the phone and most unhelpful, will investigate shortly, only one problem i've closed all but one of my credit cards, the ones left are sony (mbna). Do you think i'll have trouble getting another one sooner rather than later.
Thanks for your help

Difficult to say whether you'll get another one. I'd never been turned down for a card until last October even when my finances were a total mess & now I've been turned down for 2. Left it about a month then applied for a different card in both cases & got accepted.
There are some online checkers you can use that don't put a check on your credit report to see which cards generally issue to your profile but they're not 100% accurate.
MoneySupermarket* (just select ‘Smartsearch with Equifax’)
MoneyExpert* (click the ‘Advanced Search’ tab)
Good luck

If you have a sony/MBNA card phone them up and enquire about a promotional rate - they giving them out quite a bit at present, than as said before transfer to yuor current account to pay the loan off.No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
