The local price for membership for 2 people is over £100 a month! It's teh only gym near where I live and I want to get it at a better price... anyone know of anyone or any way I could do this? Want to sign up for half a year...

Yer sure, if you only go in the day, say before 4pm you can get a much subsidised membership, as they know most go 4pm-10pm
  • thanks laura, unfortuantely i work as a doctor and can't really change my hours. the off peak membership won't really work because of the hours i work usually mean i'll be in the gym even less! what i'm looking for are perhpas offers like those health insurance ones with holmes place and LA fitness or some special way to do this that i am unaware of...

I recently ordered leisure vouchers, and I received a booklet along with the vouchers. There's a voucher in the booklet that says you get 50% off the joining fee when you pay using leisure vouchers at David Lloyd. It says to make an appointment and present the coupon when joining. If this is any good to you, I'm quite happy to send it you. (It's only valid until 28th February) It might be worth you buying leisure vouchers to pay for joining if it saves you 50%

Ok, so you save like £20 but still pay £100 a month- doesnt cut cost of membership really

The joining fee is considerably more than £40. When I joined last june, it was £200. Thankfully having previously been a member many many MANY moons ago, I was able to argue that I was re-joining, so they waived the joining fee.

I should really know that
  • they are waiving joining fee for me, a negotiation I made with them because i got them alot of new memberships a while back, but still, £100 a month is too much for me!

Are there deals they do in regiions? an idea is if i can get membership somewhere far away alot cheaper, i can join that gym and a month later i can use other DLs around the country, no?
