How to get ASDA Pink Salmon for £1.41 instead of £2.98

I have noticed for some time that ASDA have been massively increasing random items without justification.
A perfect example of this is their own-brand 413g tin of salmon.
10 days ago it was £1.58, last Monday £2 and now £2.98!
The equivalent at Tesco & Sainsbury's is £1.57.
To get the salmon for only £1.41 use the online ASDA 10% price guarantee site and enter your receipt details.
They guarantee that their prices are 10% cheaper than the competition and, if not, you will receive a voucher for the difference between the ASDA cost and the competition cost less 10%.
You can buy up to 10 items of the same product so buy the salmon in 1 transaction & the rest of your shopping in another.
Obviously this will work on any item where ASDA are not just dearer than the other supermarkets but where they are not 10% cheaper.

I noticed that today asda have increased the price of their smart price sliced ham from 50p a pack to 70p!!!
They are increasing prices and not justifying why?
UHT milk was 72p semi skimmed now 78p.
Even the reduced items section you have to be careful, some of the items are not big savings! and some of the reduced meals are still over £2 a go!Mortgage Free 2016Work Part Time:DHouse Hunting In France 20230 -
I contacted ASDA re-the salmon but only received a generalised reply about increasing prices-no attempt to answer why the massive increase on the salmon.
It seems to be a general policy to change prices willy-nilly which confuses customers.Lots of items have increased dramatically in the last few months without justification.Tins of corned beef a few months ago were less than £1-now £2 at least!
It wouldn't surprise me if the salmon became a "Roll-Back" item and the price reduced very soon as Tesco & Sainsbury still sell it for £1.57.0 -
They do it all the time. As you said don't be suprised to find it on a roll back or a 2for1 offer.
All the supermarkets are at it. I usually find tins of tuna move to £3.50 then suddenly go to £7.00 and then after a while move to a 2for1.
Best one I saw was for a multipack of sunbites for £1.The following week there was a special offer at 2 packs for £3.00 or £1.75 a pack. Work that one out :think:Well....... I thought it was good!!0 -
anyone going for the price difference voucher be aware that you need a minimum of 8 different comparable items for the pricechecker to work.0
