    The rest is good stuff. However, if the OFT is involved, it simply means absolutely nothing will happen, and if it does, the horse is usually long gone after it bolted.

    Just today people were suggesting in the office that the company coming down hard on the energy companies have said this no less than 3 times so far...but done absolutely nothing.


    You have to realise that these "watchdogs" are not there to protect the public but to protect the companies.

    It's just another dimension to the whole racket which is government quangos.

  • All this looks unenforceable to me as 99% of it is subjective. Where on earth is the money going to come from to police this nonsense as well? I'm sure there'll now be some regulatory quango overseeing a nonsensical committee to oversee it all.

    If they want to "do" something about estate agents, insist on professional accreditation like they do in the States. That would get rid of the fat tie and hair gel brigade overnight and provide some actual value to the economy.
