Thanks for that, I already do mystery shopping and had about £46 come back into my account today.
I am registered on Pigsback but have not used it for ages, I think I have enough piggypoints for a voucher too.
Selling the car is an option, I guess I did not realise what a false economy it was until I really thought about it today. In bus fares we would be spending £80 per month, but already we spend £40 on petrol and gas, £45 on car insurance, £15 on tax and then there is servicing and repairs to take into consideration. My only difficulty is getting home if I finish work on a late shift.
I don't think my OH actually realises how serious the finances are, he always has this nice habit of burying his head in the sand. I have spoke to him before about the bowls asking perhaps he could cut it down to once a fortnight but then his dad interferes and tells me that "bowls is his only source of enjoyment"
Thanks again for all the helpful advice x x0 -
Hi again bunnie.
You need to try to get him to see exactly what the situation is!
Otherwise he might be spending money as fast as you're saving it!
Show him some of the snowball calculations on https://www.whatsthecost.com, that often works.
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
I phoned Capital One 6 months ago and said I was doing some financial 'housekeeping' and asked the APR (even though I knew it was horrifically high). When they told me, I acted all shocked and disappointed and said how much I liked them as a company (lie, lie, lie!!!), but if the APR was that high, I would have to do a balance transfer to another company and was there anything that they could do about the APR???
They reduced it 14.9%........
I phoned all my CC's. Some wouldn't budge, but Barclaycard dropped from 34.9% (OUCH!) to 15.9%.
Worth a go to chop a few pounds off the interest.........0
