What productive/money saving things can you do within an hour???

Hello all, I posted this in the Moneysavers arms and it didn't get received the way I had planned. I hoped it would give us some inspiration of actual productive things you could get done in an hour.
Also just to say originally I posted about saving time on a lunch break, I know not everyone gets an hour lunch break so it's more of what can you get done in an hour thread I suppose.:D
Just trying to think of some more original things to do with a short period of time!
Cheers people!

Mmm. Interesting. Not surprised the arms people didn't take it seriously. It might get a better response on somewhere like the old style board where people do use their time for good sensible things.
For me, when I was working at school, i would mark books while I was eating my lunch as I could do it without too much thought and save a job that would otherwise have to be done at home.
Other options were writing christmas cards/birthday cards/emails/letters. Read a book. Write to do lists of what I needed to do. Make some phonecalls.
If it were now, i might consider doing my knitting or another craft, or taking a walk somewhere outside on a nice day.
Nowadays in an hour alone, I could do so much.
I hope you get some good ideas.0 -
Thanks Cha97michelle you have some great ideas!:D
Yea I don't think I will bother over there again. I mean some people got the idea but others well I dunno doesn't look like they are productive with their time at all.
I might bring in my cross stitch hmmm good idea and writting cards is a good thought too!
Thanks for the reply I'll try and bring in some things from home to do I think.:D xxxxMortgage at Highest:£145,000

The money savers arms does seem to have a lot of rubbish posted don't they? I popped in the other day, spent a couple of minutes reading, thought 'what in the name of Pete is all this cr**p?' and left.
I am afraid that I am horribly unorginal in my thinking though, I just thought 'sign up for a cash back credit card, swap cell phone contracts etc' which are all things I often try to cram into spare hours at work. But they are all one offs and not consistent do-overs.
If we go for 'productive' though then I would say a good amount of exercise or a nice steam/sauna. Both do wonders for my stress levels/and or heath and fitness. So I consider them very productive

Yea totally agree about the arms, thought it was just me being a moody mare!
Good idea about the exercise though both of you, I have to say I don't often think of just going out for a walk!:D
I'm just going to try and be organized and bring in some little things to do if I get time.:)

I find if i have something with me, then I can do it if i get time, which I sometimes do, but if you take nothing, you can guarantee there will be free time with nothing to do.
I always had things like a couple of blank cards in my briefcase, as we had a postbox outside work. That way I could write something if I suddenly remembered I needed to send someone something.
I hate wasting time though. I am such a multi-tasker. I can never do just one thing at once.0 -
Yea same I hate that wasted time feeling!
I will make a change and bring something into work tomorrow!:D
Oh I have just seen your christmas push thread, will read up tomorrow night though.:D
Thanks again cha97michelle.
