Cross stitch cards

Just wondering if anyone does this as a living at all? I love cross stitching though since my little boy came along in February I haven't done an awful lot. I often wonder though how much you could make by creating cross stitch cards all year round so birthdays, anniversaries, Xmas, congrats etc.
Does anyone do this and, if so, how much could you potentially earn?

Hi Natalie,
I love cross stitching too, make loads of cards for relatives and always have something on the go! You can make a bit of money selling them, I don't do it as a business or anything but I've sold a few on ebay and through a local market. I've never bothered with 'craft' stalls as the overheads are often too big for me to make a profit, I'm a very small timer and paying £25 for a stall would end up costing me more than I make!
The thing with cross stitch cards is that they take a long time to make compared with paper craft card making so you wont ever be able to make enough to cover the time it took you to make them which seems to put some people off. If you love doing it and would make them anyway then it's not such a problem.
Guess the amount you earn would depend on how many cards you could make and how much you were selling them for but don't forget to factor in costs, I know thread, material, cards, card bags etc aren't expensive on their own but they add up and they aren't free! A rule of thumb is to charge 3x what they cost you to make.
Sorry I can't be more help, hope that's at least a bit useful!
Happy stitching!

Thanks for your response. I don't think I was probably expecting that you could earn too much anyway but it's nice to know that maybe you could earn a little bit.
I assume paper craft card making is literally making cards yourself. I've always thought about that too. I'm planning on making my own christening invitation cards soon when we can get a date sorted for my little boy so I'll have to see how that goes.
Thanks again x0
