sorry guys...quick question, hopefully some of you will be able to answer.

Marginally late with brighthouse again, (due to a ccj debt which reared its head Friday and which needs paying asap) - they've now started calling family trying to get us to call them (when they've not even called us?) - saying who they are and where they are calling from, and telling family that we need to ring them urgently.

i thought people chasing a debt - any debt, no matter how much or little behind - couldnt call people who werent responsible for debt?

obviously if this is wrong, please let me know. if this is right, please let me know.

I would check the OFT guidelines on debt collection carefully, they appear to be contravening quite a few.
