That seems reasonable compared to the 70-75 euros on this mallorcan info site.

  • Can Picafort is a hour/ hour and a half, journey at most from the airport.
£40 is ok for single person journey but if it is per person and if there is two then it gets steep.
What you could search for is bus shuttle service from airport to Alcudia, then get a taxi to Can Picafort this may widen your chance of getting a better deal and Can pic is not far from Alcudia.
If you need car hire I 100 per cent advise recordrentacar, by far the cheapest and most available.
I rented a car for 10 days in June and it cost £100. If there are more than one traveling with you works out cheaper than £40 a head.
  • yes,we were quoted £40 per person, our flight arrives in Palma at 1am, there may not be buses running at that time. but a round trip of £160 seems is a bit steep.

Website of shuttle bus - 22 euros per person. Might be worth e-mailing them to check current prices and times etc

I try that too sometimes, only on a sunday though.
I actually found it more easy and more sense to drive in Mallorca.
My mum is in mallorca now and the weather is fine and the place hiving still.
