Christmas hampers- need theme ideas

Hi everyone

Last year every one in our family pulled a name out of a hat and had to create a hamper for that person based on a certain colour.

We want to do the same this year but with a different theme and hopefully non food, but we dont know what to suggest!

Ive looked at the huge thread about hampers on here (first sticky) but am overwhelmed by the amount of information.

A quick bit of info about family members-
Mum- 52
Dad- 52
Myself- 30
Partner- 29
Sister- 24
Her partner- 32
Brother- 29

Thanks in advance!

Comments

  • Mum/Sister - book/dvd, scented candle, nice cup (lovely selection in poundland/poundworld/b&m etc), hot choc/tea/coffee sachets, slipper socks (primark) should get you started, try adding bits from discount shops (bargain save always works for me!) for their tastes

Dad - I did one for my dad last year with golf tees and balls, dvd (from poundland!), and a voucher in which i gave 3 sessions of cleaning his clubs - he was happy!

sisters partner/brother - best bet is to find out what he likes, then pop that in ebay/amazon and see what comes up. failing that, the old socks, tie, choccies and gift sets always make the list!

If youre really struggling, put in vouchers for babysitting, cleaning the house, or offer to buy them fresh flowers every month for a year, or another service you can offer them.

Ooh that's a brilliant idea, never thought of having a theme, if i've ever made hampers they've been specific for the person.

How about the first letter of the recipients name?
Mum - Sandra so she could receive Soap, Socks, Sweets, Saucepan, Shirt.

Dad - Brian - Books, (juggling) Balls, Boxers, Beer Glass, Belt.

I just hope your sister isn't called Xanthippe or something.

I did one for my friends last year called a night in at the movies. It had popcorn, wine, sweets, couple of films, candles (bulker). Anything you'd associate with going to the cinema

  • U could also do a crafty hamper if anyone is into crafts but i would get an old tea tray and let them do as they please in the end of it like alter it to there liking or u could alter the tea tray and then fill up on crafts, odd iteams they could alter.

Ive done a mix of pamper, dvds and books and loads of sweets lol ill be adding homemade iteams to,

TV/Film themed hampers go down well
I am doing DS a Marvel one this year and so far have pre-ordered the Thor film, got an Iron man 2 Nintendo DS game (half price in wilko sale), a marvel belt, a megablocks figure, and some marvel comics.
I did a Star Trek one last year for DH and it had a keyring, mug, dvd, bottle opener and a star trek memory stick he was really pleased with it.
DD has asked for a Doctor Who one this year so I am just looking for bits now
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
