HELP! FTBs but boyf is self employed!

Please can someone give me some advice?
My boyfriend and I have been renting shared houses for 6 years and cant take any more so we have started looking to buy!

Looking at houses 100-125k
Have saved 10k for deposit, fees etc (luckily, his parents are giving us pretty much all the essential furniture/appliances we will need so we dont have to worry about that).

Monthly credit commitments are £150-200

I make around 21k in full time employment.
My boyfriend has been self employed since July/August (he was a courier but has started as a driving instructor this month). He makes 15-18k and has kept good records of his income/expences etc (but no tax return yet-obviously!).

What we really want to know is whether it is realistic for us to be looking at houses in this price range and if my income is the main one, how much will his self-employed status affect the type of deals available to us?

We need to buy before the lease on our shared house runs out in June because we dont want to end up signing up for another 6 months rental.

Please can someone tell me if we are crazy thinking we can do this and the type of deals we can expect to get?

I would be very grateful!

Me and my girlfriend borrowed 139500 last year.

I earn 30k (when we applied last year it was 27), plus around 2/3 in bits and bobs (i design websites) - I did have a tax return for the extra though.

My girlfriend is at uni and earns around 7k.

We have similar other credit commitments to you.

We don't struggle, we still go out and about and we can buy things when we need them.

    I think you'll be fine - good luck :)
