Ugg/ Emu Boots

I am looking at getting some Ugg or Emu boots for winter but just can't decide if it's worth it. I have had some of the fake boots which only ever cost about £15, but I have now been thinking about getting some uggs or emu boots but not sure which are better.

Could anyone recommend either of these boots and are they worth the price? :)

I have Emus and compared to the cheap fake look alikes they are like a rolls royce to a wheelbarrow. You won't get the walking over the back heel which you see so often. They are real sheepskin linning really keep feet cosy in the cold weather. Stringer is the ones you need to look for in Emus, Bronte are the cheaper version which is lined with merino wool not the sheepskin.

ASOS and Amazon can have good deals on so keep checking the sites. I have my Emus(well one pair three years), own three pair.

I am definitely thinking about getting some uggs or emu boots. I have noticed that there is a Emu TSV on QVC on 9th October so may wait and see what it is :)
  • I have 4 pairs of Uggs, they are fabulous. I would never buy the cheap nasty copies. Uggs may seem expensive but i've had my short classics for 3 years now and they are still going strong. They dont sag or slump like fakes.

I completely agree with gunsandbanjos, Uggs are really worth the investment. I'm fortunate enough to travel to the states for work each year to pick up a new pair, and as I don't wear the same pair daily, I've got some that have been going 4 years now. They are so comfortable and warm. The only slight issue is that a couple of pairs have stretched so I need a pair of walking socks under them

I've got a treatment spray and wire brush which has kept them in good nick. I've yet to wear my black ones, I'm slightly worried about them getting salt marked but will treat them before wearing.

Not really, as i said i have had my chestnut classics for 3 years and wore them through the 2 snowy winters we've had and they still look pretty good.

Some of the colours for the Emu Stinger Lo's are currently £79.99 on Javari (part of Amazon) at the moment, which is an excellent price. Plus there's a 25% off code valid until 30th Sept, which makes them £59.99, which is an even more amazing price! Lots of sizes available too.

Me and my friend bought four pairs between us at that price in the last week and a half!!!

I can highly recommend them. I have three pairs of Emus and one pair of Uggs - I love them all! If anything I would say the Emus are even better quality than the Uggs and are more hard-wearing in my opinion.

I have Uggs that I share with DD, we've had most pairs for over 2 years and they are going strong to say the least, no sagging or marks and not worn down at all, we treat them every few months with a cleaner and a waterproof spray and we keep them boxed when not wearing them (which isnt often I even wore mine through the summer), I have heard good things about Emu boots but the feel good factor with Uggs is worth taking into consideration also keep an eye on the grabbit board on here, there are some great deals to be had:)
Thank you for this site Martin

  • I bought Uggs 4 and a half years ago in states when dollar was $2 for a £1 so got 2 pairs for half price long chestnut and small black I still wear both
Bought my daughter Emus quite a few years back which were massively reduced and had a code for money off ended up paying £20 for them and they lasted her 2 years til she grew out of them
So I would say they are both hard wearing and go with the ones that are doing the best deal at the moment and beware of fakes my husband bought me a pair 2 years ago which he thought he was getting a good deal but they were fake and only lasted 6 months before they went in the bin
Just to add some more to think off I bought fit flop long black boots very similar to Uggs which I also love
