You can try, but only independents will be interested.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
  • How about friends/neighbours? A couple of folk I know asked if they could have some veg boxes, perfect as we have way too much for just us. I drop them off at the weekend and I put the money towards netting, seeds, canes, etc.

Do you have space at the front-side of your house to put a table up & sell frm there, with an honesty box?

When I worked in a greengrocers many moons ago, the owner would pay people who brought in the occasional bag of plums or runner beans the same rate as he paid the wholesaler for class2 produce (often marked, irregular shapes etc) - fair all round. That person would then use that cash to buy other stuff quite often, good scheme. He didn't lose money compared with buying wholesale, could sell local produce, people got a few quid and got rid of their surplus. Ask. The supermarkets won't be interested of course!
  • Hi

What about taking your produce to local restraunts? A lot of them now days are always advertising local produce in their menu's and the are more than likely to give you a fair price for your goods. Also most work with whats available during each season, so I'd give it a go you never know you may have a demand for it.

    All the best

    Spooky :)
