I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.

Just a quick warning, be careful with Paintball and the idea that it will be cheap, in my experience the two just do not go together!. Make sure you check not only the fee for attending the site, but also the price of the paint (which is where the day gets very expensive.)

Take care because not all paintball companies are as reputable or take their health and safety as seriously as they should even though at first glance they might appear as professional as others.

There have also been cases of people being ripped off by ticket sellers in Malls where trading standards have had to step in and investigate. I hasten to add that not all Mall ticket sellers are dodgy but do your reseach. It often turns out that what initially seems like a really great deal actually turns out to be more expensive than if you had just booked directly through the site in the first place. And they will tend to tell you things like, "we only have a few tickets left, when they are gone, they are gone" , "you can only take up the offer today, we might not be here tomorrow'. It's a sale's pitch but many people fall for it. You are often paying extra to cover the cost of the marketing company.

Like the previous poster said, check the prices. The paintballs are the most expensive thing on the day. If you intend on going more than once, and frankly, even if you're not, buy a pair of protective gloves. People often forget to cover them and it's a painful place to get shot. Paintball sites usually sell fairly cheap plastic armoured gloves for about a fiver that will do the trick.

I would suggest that you check that any site you use is on the list of accredited venues at the UKPSF (https://www.ukpsf.com). To be accredited to the UKPSF paintball sites have to undergo checks to ensure they meet certain health and safety standards. I do believe that they have some sites in your area.

If you want any paintball advice an excellent place to go is https://www.p8ntballer.com. It has a forum that is 'the' place to go for the tournament paintball players in the UK but they are the most friendly bunch of peeps around and if there is a really good site near you then someone on there will undoubtedly know about it.

Depending on what type of paintball kit you are after, a good place to buy from is London International Paintball Supplies, https://www.lpspaintball.biz. They are a friendly company and so far I've experienced nothing but good customer service.

Paintball is never a cheap sport but it is definately a fun one.

Hope your son has a good time :)
