  • First Aid courses MUST have a practical assessment. Otherwise you are just getting information about first aid. There is a 3 day First Aid at Work course to be a first aider or a 1 day First Aid Appointed Persons Course which means you can monitor First Aid kits, assist First Aiders, provide very basic first aid in low-risk areas etc. Contact your local FE College who will probably provide it as they may have some funding through ESF to pay for it depending on your circumstances. If you are <18 then it is fundable.
  • Some community centres in my area offer first aid courses for free. The provider is Adult and Community Learning (the council)
