Questions re becoming self employed

Hi all

I am currently on maternity leave which is coming to an end in November and I have been looking into various direct selling/work from home opportunities. As I dont think I could return to full time work with my husbands hours and travelling as well as 3 young children.

I have a few questions.
1) Can I do more than one of these schemes at a time for example Avon and a cloth nappy selling or party hosting type business.

2) What sort of records would I need to keep as I would be paid comission only

3) How would these affect the tax credits we currently recieve?

Thanks
