Does anyone know where to buy jam jars in Northern Ireland?
The cheapest I am able to buy so far is 32p per 12oz jar and that is if I buy 1000, from England.
I don't want to reuse normal household jars, just want to buy clear new ones.
I would like to have the 1lb sized jars but these so far are quite expensive.

There is a Lakeland on the Boucher Road. I just use jars that I have kept through the year. I run them through the dishwasher and then put them in a hot oven for 15 minutes to sterilize.

My instant reaction was IKEA too. I have bought jars that are a bit smaller than jam jars before but that's not to say they don't have them larger. You can get 4 of these for @2.19. pretty cheap!0

One of my friends makes jam and chutneys etc and I'm pretty sure she uses the following company for jam jars at reasonable prices....
Sam McLernon Ltd. Medical Supplies Website
3 Ballyknockan Road Saintfield Ballynahinch Co Down BT24 7HG
Tel :028-9081-2266
the following is the 'main' company site

The same friend has also been known to buy cheap jars of Tesco economy mint sauce and lemon curd...she bins the contents ....and it still works out cheaper than buying new jam jars :rotfl:0

Some of the pound shops have large jars with clasp fastenings, I like to get them and fill them with sweets and decorate the jars for gifts. Much cheaper than buying the prefilled ones they sell in shops! I think they have smaller jars too. They don't all have them though, I got mine in the one on Anne Street, Belfast..out the back of Victoria Square shopping centre.0
