you say this time and time again

isn't it about time you proved this with hard facts or by telling us where your information comes from or stop posting it

and you know full well that photocopying coupons is wrong

I don't need to prove it.

No more than you do when you complain about your coupons not being accepted due to what you call 'abuse' of coupons.

However, It is a fact - and if you 'google' the relevant details you'll find trade comments which support what I say.

I didn't advocate photocopying either, I just pointed out that T's do not lose out when it happens.

  • I went to mr t's on sat and used 2 coupons, the free campbells soup which went through fine, i then scanned the mums poersil coupon, but scanned the 75p off conditioner, which it accepted, only thing was i wanted to scan the £1 one as it was non bio, the sa came over i explained and she then said oh we dont accept photocopies, so i said its not a photocopy its from the actual printer, she said oh o.k i will check with my supervisor, i said o.k and she came back a few mins later with a £1, she voided the 75p and let me have them.

I'm not sure manufacturers will continue to issue coupons on the same scale if coupon mis/mal-redemption rises considerably, as seems to have been happening lately. It's not all about the retailer.
I have to agree with above post, I am not so concered about if Tesco will or will not get paid for the coupons, but about the amount of money the likes of the Sherddie/Campbells coupon cost the manufacturer

ok if its so readily available on google please can you post a link to a relevant article

This is what manorf is talking about.
    http://www.marketingweek.co.uk/news/tesco-to-stop-returning-coupons-to-brand-owners/3012899.article

Tesco stopped returning all coupons last year.

    Hope this helps.
Remember You're a Womble !! Keep Tesco Tidy.

Someone is telling you ''porky - pies''. Tesco ALWAYS get the money back for coupons - even if it was a photocopy - because they deduct the value of all coupons redeemed from the supplier's invoice. The coupons are then destroyed. This is actually one of the terms and conditions in their suppliers contracts.
Sounds like the usual attitude from some of the Tesco trouts - best to complain either in store to the manager or via Head Office who will arrange to have the relevant staff re-trained.

Not sure but I think as part of the ability to do this T agreed with the IPM (Then ISP) to supply 'pin' data to the manufacturers so your info may be out of date?? Always happy if you know for sure what you are reporting is correct?

Further info, not encouraging coupon abuse just up-to-date from the IPM
