Hi everyone,
I've not posted much - i'm more of a lurker! so am a bit scared of starting my first thread, but wanted to say thank you so much to everyone here you've really changed my life:j
i origionally came to the site for advice on reclaiming my bank charges - which i've only just started - but was hooked.
I thought i was quite good with money - always made sure i was with cheapest suppliers and credt card tarted (but wasn't a very good tart, i often used my cleared card for 'emergencies', ie the sales
)
But now have locked my cards in a drawer, and have a balance on just one card which i'm really hoping to clear by the end of the year and i managed to get through Christmas without using my card which i wouldn't have thought possible.
I've joined cashback sites and do some mystery shopping and use extra income to pay extra on my cc debt.
i've stared shopping more locally which is suprisingly cheaper and utilising coupons and clubcard points much better.
i set myself a weekly budget and just take that amount of cash out of the bank - when it's gone it's gone.
i've also set up another bank account to seperate my bills from day to day spending and check my statements online regularly so don't go overdrawn.
i feel so much more organised and am looking forward to being debt free some time, although may take a while as i have BIG debts!
So thank you so much.
