Hello all,
To cut a very long story short...I had to remortgage my house to buy my Ex partner out. The mortgage lender released the funds to my solicitor on the 21st December. I had a letter from the solicitor on 29th saying that they had transferred the funds to relevant parties (my previous mortgage lender and my Ex) and were waiting for confirmation from them. The letter also said that they would be in contact as soon as the Christmas and New Year holidays were over to transfer the balance to me.
I have not recieved any letters or phone calls from them, so on wednesday I rang them. I could not speak with the person in question so the receptionist said that she would get her to phone me back. Friday came and no response from them and I found out that my phone was not plugged in
I rang them again on friday and again she was busy so I gave them my mobile number aswell and again nobody has phoned me back.
Now, My Ex has confirmed to me that he has had his money since 2nd Jan and he has had confirmation from the old mortgage provider saying everything is settled. My new mortgage has started and the first payment taken.
How long do you think is a reasonable amount of time to give them
Or am I being impatient lol!
Thanks!
